| Email Account Setup - General |
Regardless of the mail program you use, they all require these same settings.
|
| General Email Connection
Settings |
- Supported Mail Services: SMTP, POP3, and IMAP4
- Mail Server for all services: mail.YourDomainName.com, where 'YourDomainName.com'
is the customer's domain name. The same server handles SMTP, POP3 and IMPA4.
- User Name: The user name is the customer's FULL email address, including
the domain name.
- Password: is the password set for the customer email account. Customer's
can change the password via the web interface at
http://mail.YourDomainName.com. Substitute your domain name and log in with
your FULL email address and current password.
- Authentication: The out bound (SMTP) server requires authentication and
uses the same settings as the inbound server.
- Server Ports: All server ports are standard. SMTP servers also listen on
port 2525, allowing customers to send mail out through their own mail server
even if their ISP "blocks port 25". Connections to port 2525 require
authentication.
